  1. Keep your skin clean: For the next 24 hours after the facial, avoid touching your face unnecessarily to allow your skin to recover and heal. When cleansing your face, use a gentle cleanser suited for your skin type. Avoid using harsh scrubs or exfoliants immediately after the facial, as they can cause irritation.

  2. Stay hydrated: Hydration is key to maintaining healthy skin. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within. This will help flush out toxins and promote a glowing complexion.

  3. Protect your skin from the sun: After a facial, your skin may be more sensitive to sunlight. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 50 whenever you go outside, even on cloudy days. Remember to reapply every two hours, especially if you are spending prolonged time outdoors.

  4. Avoid excessive heat and steam: Refrain from using saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, or hot tubs for at least 24 hours after your facial. These activities can increase skin sensitivity and may cause redness or irritation.

  5. Skip heavy makeup: Give your skin some breathing space by avoiding heavy makeup for the first 24 hours post-facial. If you need to wear makeup, opt for mineral-based or non-comedogenic products that are lighter and gentler on the skin.

  6. Follow skincare recommendations: Your esthetician may have provided you with specific recommendations for post-facial skincare products. Follow her recommendations and incorporate any suggested serums, moisturizers, or treatments into your daily skincare routine.

  7. Maintain a healthy lifestyle: A balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate sleep all contribute to healthy skin. Aim for a nutritious diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and antioxidants to promote skin health and vitality.

If you experience any unusual reactions or have concerns about your skin following the facial, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to address any questions you may have and provide further guidance.

CUSTOM treatments

  1. Avoid sun exposure: For the next two weeks, it is crucial to protect the treated areas from direct sunlight. Sunburn can cause complications and hinder the healing process. If you must go outside, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and wear protective clothing.

  2. Avoid heat and hot water: Refrain from exposing the treated areas to hot water, such as hot showers, baths, saunas, or hot tubs, for 48 hours following the procedure. Heat can increase skin sensitivity and potentially lead to adverse reactions.

  3. Gentle cleansing: Cleanse the treated areas gently using mild, non-irritating soap or cleanser. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating the area vigorously. Pat dry with a clean towel instead of rubbing.

  4. Avoid irritants: For the first few days after treatment, avoid using products that may irritate the skin, such as scented lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals. Opt for fragrance-free and hypoallergenic products instead.

  5. No picking or scratching: It is essential to resist the temptation to pick, scratch, or peel any scabs or crusting that may form. Let the skin heal naturally to minimize the risk of scarring or infection.

  6. Moisturize regularly: Keep the treated area moisturized to promote healing and soothe any temporary redness or dryness. Choose a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and apply it as needed.

  7. Avoid excessive sweating: Engaging in activities that cause excessive sweating, such as intense workouts, for a couple of days after treatment is not recommended. Sweating can irritate the skin and increase the risk of infection.

  8. Schedule follow-up appointments: Laser hair removal often requires multiple sessions to achieve optimal results. Please schedule your follow-up appointments as recommended by your provider to ensure maximum effectiveness.

  9. Report any concerns: If you experience any unexpected or concerning symptoms, such as severe pain, blistering, or signs of infection (redness, swelling, pus), please contact our clinic immediately. We are here to address any issues that may arise.

Remember, everyone's healing process is unique, so it is normal to experience some temporary redness, mild swelling, or sensitivity after laser hair removal. Following these aftercare instructions diligently will help minimize any potential complications and promote a faster recovery.

LASER hair Removal

  1. Keep the treated area clean: For the first night after the peel, avoid washing your face or applying any products to the treated area. After this initial period, you can gently cleanse your face using a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Be sure to use lukewarm water and avoid scrubbing or using exfoliating brushes.

  2. Moisturize regularly: Hydration is crucial for post-peel recovery. Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer multiple times a day to keep your skin hydrated and promote healing. Avoid using any moisturizers that contain irritants or exfoliating agents, such as retinol or AHAs/BHAs, until your skin has fully healed.

  3. Avoid direct sun exposure: Protecting your skin from the sun is vital after a chemical peel. Stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible for the first week following the treatment. When you do go outside, wear a wide-brimmed hat and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 50. Reapply sunscreen every two hours or as directed.

  4. Do not pick or peel the skin: It is natural for the treated skin to go through a peeling or flaking process. However, avoid picking, scratching, or forcefully removing any peeling skin. Let it slough off naturally to prevent scarring or hyperpigmentation.

  5. Avoid excessive heat or sweating: For the first few days after your peel, avoid activities that cause excessive sweating or expose your skin to high heat. This includes hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise. Heat and sweat can irritate the skin and delay the healing process.

  6. Skip harsh skincare products: Refrain from using any harsh skincare products, including retinol, exfoliants, or acne treatments, until your skin has fully recovered. These products can cause further irritation or sensitivity, prolonging the healing process.

  7. Be patient with results: Chemical peels induce skin cell turnover, and the full results may take several weeks to become apparent. Be patient with the process and allow your skin time to rejuvenate naturally.

If you experience any unusual or severe symptoms, such as excessive redness, swelling, prolonged pain, or signs of infection, please contact us immediately.

We are here to support you throughout your recovery journey. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your chemical peel aftercare, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

MICRONEEDLING

We want to ensure that you have a smooth and comfortable experience during and after your treatment. To help you achieve the best results and maintain the health of your skin, we have provided some important aftercare instructions for you to follow:

  1. Keep the area clean: For the first 24 hours following your sugaring session, avoid touching or rubbing the treated area. Gently cleanse the area with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, harsh soaps, and exfoliating products during this time.

  2. Moisturize regularly: Starting from the day after your treatment, moisturize the sugared area twice a day using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. Keeping the skin hydrated will help soothe any redness or sensitivity and promote proper healing.

  3. Avoid heat and sweating: For the first 24 to 48 hours, it is important to avoid activities that may cause excessive heat or sweating in the treated area. This includes hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, intense workouts, and activities that may cause friction or irritation.

  4. Skip sun exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

  5. Say no to exfoliation: Refrain from using exfoliating products, loofahs, or scrubs on the treated area for at least 48 hours after sugaring. Exfoliation can irritate the skin and disrupt the healing process.

  6. Avoid tight clothing: Loose-fitting clothing is recommended immediately after your sugaring session to prevent friction and irritation. Tight or abrasive clothing may cause discomfort or ingrown hairs.

  7. No swimming or hot tubs: To minimize the risk of infection, it's best to avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water for at least 48 hours after sugaring.

  8. Watch for ingrown hairs: If you notice any ingrown hairs in the treated area, gently exfoliate the area using a soft brush or a mild exfoliating product recommended by your aesthetician. Avoid picking or squeezing ingrown hairs, as this can lead to infection or scarring.

If you experience any unusual or persistent side effects, such as severe redness, swelling, or skin irritation, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to address any concerns you may have.

We hope these aftercare instructions help you achieve smooth and beautiful results from your sugaring hair removal treatment. Should you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us.

In general, the chemical peel healing time lasts up to 14 days. Depending on the intensity of the peel, it can end sooner, but it’s important to follow the aftercare instructions for the full 2 weeks.

The initial side effects will likely go away sooner, but the recovery processes which we don’t see also needs time.

Light chemical peel recovery time may be as short as 7 days. Deep chemical peel recovery time can last much longer than the 2-week mark, for example, redness or pigmentation can last for weeks or even months.

Day 1 – Some Redness and Possible Frosting
Redness, tenderness, warmness, tightness, itchiness is a common side effect of a chemical peel. For the rest of the day after your chemical peel, you can expect the skin to look flushed – this is completely normal. If you have plans for the day, bring a hat and have your visor. You can go through with your plans as long as you keep the treated area away from sunlight.

In general, you’ll be instructed not to do anything to your skin until the next day. After that, you’ll probably need to wash the skin with cool to lukewarm water only – no cleanser – and use your topicrem soothing cream generously. Apply SPF on top.

If you feel any discomfort, you can probably apply a cool compress, but check with Sameerah just to be safe

Day 2 – Some Discomfort
Your skin may still look darker, or reddish. It may start feeling dry and tight, kind of like a sunburn. Some people may start flaking as soon as day 2, however most don’t start peeling until day 3.

How to Care for Your Skin
You can apply your topicrem soothing cream whenever your skin starts feeling tight but it's important not to overcompensate for dryness by over moisturizing. Wash it with cool to lukewarm water as instructed. We prefer no makeup but if you feel the need to, check with your practitioner first. Wear your SPF 50.

Day 3 – Peeling Starts

In most cases, this is the point when the skin starts flaking. If the treated area is the face, the flaking usually starts around the mouth, as this is the part of the face that moves the most and skin starts cracking as a result. It will gradually spread outwards, and may go as far as under your jawline, into your hairline, and some flaking may even occur on your earlobes.

How to Care for Your Skin for day 3

The most important thing at this point is not picking at the flakes of skin or pulling at them. The peeling can get quite intense and your skin may slough off in large chunks, but you must refrain from ripping them off. The flakes have to fall off on their own, or you risk discoloration and scarring.

Day 4 – More Peeling
Day 4 will bring about even more flaking. For some, this is the most intense day and it can get scary. Don’t worry – large flakes are expected.

How to Care for Your Skin for day 4
The same as day 3 – no picking at the flakes, keep the skin moisturized and clean it with water. Wear your SPF.

Day 5-14 - SLOWDOWN

The pace at which the skin peels is individual and it depends on how intense the peel was. You can expect major peeling to last for 2-5 days from when it started, and some minor peeling may be visible for a bit longer than that. In general, you can consider your chemical peel recovery completely over around day 14.

How to Care for Your Skin for day 5-14:

Keep up with the prescribed aftercare routine until all peeling stops. Your practitioner will most likely get you to resume your retinol on day 5 based on the type of peel and your skin, you may use derm a gel 3x a week but generally once peeling stops by day 14, you can go back to your normal routine more or less, but keep wearing your SPF. The protective barrier for your skin has been compromised and it’s very susceptible to sun damage.

If you experience any unusual or severe symptoms, such as excessive redness, swelling, prolonged pain, or signs of infection, please contact us immediately.
